dsquared2 - how MUCH do i LOVE this shoe?
November 22, 2008
April 9th, 2008
seriously, how much do i LOVE this shoe? how much do YOU? surfing shoe sites like zappos.com is not a bad gig, in fact it’s a downright fun-tastic way to spend ones work day! there ARE too many shoes to covet in any one particular season… i’m paradoxically cursed and blessed with seeing thousands each spring and fall. i say cursed, as i fall in love with many of them… and the exercise in self-restraint is often painful. what would i do with all of them? oh! i’d wear them, but i’ve already amassed a collection that affords me more than 1.7 pairs a day for a well-heeled year. but, i digress.
THIS SHOE! it’s kind of my favorite sherbet and grass green color combo. the slingback is dainty but necessary, while the heel height at 3 1/2″ inches is manageable. and that bowed ornament on the toe is simply snappy, just above the piped peep-toe. i’m practically drooling. perfect to pair with that summertime dress that reveals my sun-kissed shoulders. or to slip on under jeans so when i walk, the ladies stare. they are springtime spectacular! come to mama!!!! get your footwear fix of dsquared2 at Zappos.com…

mother’s day shoe-shaped cookies…. deeeee-lish!
November 22, 2008
May 2nd, 2008
while my mom wasn’t one to whip up a batch of shoe-shaped anythings, we were in fact more apt to leave the cookie dough right in it’s bowl and spoon it out at our leisure, we did enjoy a few fine meals together. it is only now, after years of calling for help on boiling eggs, concocting a certain soup, or trying to remember grandmother’s famous seven-layer caramel cake that she’s gifted me my very own cook book. thanks mom! =)
our friends over at the four pot ~ a cookie boutique DO MAKE A POINT to make devilishly decadent cookies, it’s their business. the colorful shoe-shaped cookies, our favorites!, are not only sweet to look at but reeeaaallllllly scrumptious to munch into. they’re almost too pretty to eat, but one bite leads to another and soon you’ll forget why you resisted.
for mother’s day, they’re inviting YOU to let them know about the special lady in your life. co-owner abbey writes, “some of my fondest memories as a child are sitting on the kitchen counter sticking my fingers in the Kitchen-aid mixer as my mom whipped up a fresh batch of cookie dough.” good lord, hope mom turned that mixer off! ahh, i remember those days too! but i digress. if you’ll write to info@flourpotcookies.com before may 4th (only a few days away), they’ll choose one entry to win an autographed copy of their cookbook. TRUST US, you WANT these recipes!
brooklyn-based shoe factory ~ olivia rose tal

May 28th, 2008
you may recall the fabu handmade mule olivia rose tal offered for shuzsociety’s “fab friday” designer shoe giveaway recently…
our own “dalarna” visited with dorinne recently at her family owned and operated shoe factory in brooklyn and brought back some pics from a day in the life of a shoe… from start to finish dorinne and her team are able to oversee the production and take a truly hands-on approach to their shoe making. dalarna said she saw, “a group of men working with pride to produce a beautiful shoe, it was very moving and exciting to think that this sort of integrity still exists.”
need to know more? be sure to visit shuzsociety’s olivia rose tal designer profile page to read our exclusive interview.
sex and the city ~ one day to catch up…
November 22, 2008
May 28th, 2008
with one day, count it O-N-E day until sex and the city - the movie opens in theaters… you may not have time to run your last-minute marathon of the six seasons of tv shows… last week my sis and i went through my collection of dvd’s and watched a sprinkling of our favorite episodes, much to my father’s chagrin. “bells of the ball, dad! come watch it with us!” he grumbled and stayed right until miranda and steve found themselves looking at prosthetic you know what’s. “oops, i dropped the ball,” miranda squirms as she squeezes too tight. that’s good tv dad. he will never find its charms.
amazon sent me a sex and the city email today with an interview of candace bushnell. she chats about lipstick jungle, but eventually gets us to the good stuff. listen here. she’s got something to say about her own “mr. big.” you’ll prolly see the movie, then if you don’t already have them… want to get the whole collection for keepers.
visit our very own amazon store with many shoe-related books and such. there’s books on fashion, photography, models, sex and the city and of course, SHOES. am i missing anything?
charlize theron in roger vivier
November 22, 2008
June 8th, 2008
shuzsociety recently visited the famed roger vivier boutique at 750 madison avenue. it’s not news, it’s been there a year, but it still tantalizes the senses. from the moment you walk in, you feel at home. after all, the boutique was somewhat fashioned after viviers’ own place, right down to the perfectly appointed paint color on the upstairs walls. while vivier’s website is under construction, take an elle peek at their boutique.
we passed sparkling cubbies of bejeweled pumps. the basket-weave print pump we mentioned in march. and THE PAIR justjared shows charlize theron wearing to mtv’s movie awards.
Photobucket
i was unapologetically drawn to them like vivier is to the pilgrim buckle. in fact, i fondled them. i studied the way the woven t-strap moved as i tugged gently at them. the shimmer of the satin is beautifully nice. i gazed at their dainty buckles. i wasn’t even embarrassed when the sales person saw me entranced.
it’s called the Spine shoe ladies, and it retails for $2,990 at the Roger Vivier Boutique: (212) 861-5371. it’s COMPLETELY gorgeous, and it can be yours.
