Omelle shoes are ähm´ost here

December 5, 2008

we brought you a teensy sneak peek at omelle (pronounced ähm’ elle) in a november posting. and in creative director and co-founder Nicole LaFave’s shuzsociety shoe box she says of her designs, “i admire all of the established industry designers out there… there’s nothing like the process of having an idea or inspiration and taking it through the entire design process. it’s a very personal and emotional experience for me.”

LaFave says of their first collection, “overall, we are pushing the boundaries in footwear design to give our customers something they have been missing out on—luxury products with personality, a brand with a sense of humor mixed with classic sophistication and modern femininity, and ownership with business-minded professionalism.

she and co-designer cherise angelle are ready, and this july will debut their new new luxury omelle line at the collections at WSA show in las vegas. what to expect? a new way of looking at footwear which combines a Styling & Product Placement background (Cherise) with a Graphic Design & Fine Arts background (Nicole) and the outcome is smart and a must-have footwear. we’ll have you updated before their shoes can hit the shelves.

How to Shop for Designer Shoes

December 5, 2008

shoe lovers are suckers for Italian accents. and why not? these are the craftsmen who make our favorite things… Angelo of Angeleigh Anastasio gives his perspective on designer shoe buying. what’s worth noting is the ONE HE’S HOLDING during his VideoJug interview… hello! It’s our very own “obsessed” member “Grrear!” style exclusively available to shuzsociety “obsessed” members.

gil carvalho’s shoes are at gregory’s, dallas

December 5, 2008

we interviewed shoe designer Gil Carvalho — listen to the way HE says it — about some of his favorite shoe styles for fall 2008. the side note to our fun little video is that Gil is a real GEM and i don’t know if it translates on video.

we arrived into his busy showroom in vegas and gave him a few minutes to freshen-up before the camera started rolling. he emerged from his make-shift parlor with sky-high, cherry red belted square-toe heels, the kind he’s becoming famous for. teeter-free he made a bee-line right over to our spot and gave us a genuine, shoe-centric interview. thanks gil.
we found the dynamite “shadow” patent platform pump at gregory’s shoes in dallas. if you’ve not heard of gregory’s, they carry styles from top shoe designers: christian dior, helmut lang, lanvin, jerome rousseau, luciano padovan and jimmy choo to name but a select few. and if you want your own “shadow” we say get them in a hurry.
