PUMA sneaker design contest DWR event, Dallas

The Puma sneaker design competition at DWR in Dallas came to a close Thursday evening. More than 30-designer hopefuls (including yours truly) tried their hand at designing a pair of PUMA sneakers in the hopes that Puma would turn them into a bona fide funky sneaker for the winner! shuzsociety blogged about the Puma sneaker event, then got busy making our own sneakers on Puma’s insanely engaging MongolianBBQPuma website….

Kidnapping my ‘rents, we played for the evening in Dallas. Here’s my pair. An orange and purple faux-croc sneaker dubbed “Plums The Word, Bird.”

Showing their Spring 2009 preview, Puma was the focal point of the event. Didn’t get to snap a close-up (security guard hovering nearby) of the Cinco de Mayo. The collection will rock your socks off. Fiesta footwear, for sure!
