Dior! ! Dior! Dior! WOW

Suede shoe bootie and pumps with square toes, open toes and funky platforms are what Dior is all about for Fall. These shoes are the combination of modernism with that touch of Retro. Who Is following who? Are the Automobile industries GTO remakes that we are seeing everyone driving watching the footwear business . In the Fashion footwear industry the look is happening. Remember those muscle cars and those wooden Made in Brazil platforms of the 70’s. No matter how hard we try to reinvent the wheel it is still circular. The other odd thing is gas shortages and a possible recession. Interest rate hikes are just around the corner. If I were you I would buy as many pairs as possible before the prices go up.

Miss Meghan shows you how to walk in heels…

The evening gown competition during this week’s Miss Universe pageant in Vietnam proved a slippery slope for beauty queen Miss USA Crystle Stewart, as it did for last years Miss USA Rachel Smith. We’re thinking it’s their shoes. On today’s The Early Show fellow shoe expert Miss Meghan notes heel heights have exponentially increased over the last few years, and tells us how to navigate in them.
Nina footwear provided the footwear for the swimsuit competition during the Miss USA pageant held in Las Vegas earlier this year, and shuzsociety was close enough to see Miss Crystle glide in them in style. Nina footwear also provided the golden T-strap “Gaticus” for every contestant in this year’s swimsuit competition. Miss Dayana Mendoza of Venezuela was crowned Miss Universe 2008.

5-inches is the new black - heels rise to new heights

5-Inches Is. The. New. Black.
It was just a year ago that shoe designer Christian Louboutin and filmmaker slash photographer David Lynch paired for a captivating collaboration celebrating our footwear “Fetish”, with a handful of one-of-a-kind extreme, arguably erotic shoes. Then we saw the towering “IT” shoe, the Yves Saint Laurent Tribute sandal with its sculpted and tapered platform sole flaunting an attitude as bad as the heel was high. Innovative shoe designers from Nicholas Kirkwood to Gil Carvalho went vertically voluminous on us.
We knew it wouldn’t be long before our (other!) favorite shoe designers would rise to the occasion to give us more of what we want. One doesn’t even have to worry, “do these make me look like a stripper?” That’s kind of the point. And it’s totally hip. From 4” heels to 5″ plus (plus!) shoe designers are letting us be naughty little good girls. And they’re tempting us with decadent leathers in polished patents and metal hues, and carving the heels up in mouth-watering shapes. Here come our favorite fifteen…

Yves Saint Laurent black patent mid-calf boots narrowly make the 5” cut, but their strong toe-box and stiletto heel affords one a wicked, sultry attitude. Concealed platform under a 4 ½” heel with blue sole. Black. $915

Victoria Beckham NOT IN DSquared2 spiked heels…
December 4, 2008
October 6th, 2008
Our resident shuzmuse sent us this from DailyMail.co. Mrs. Beckham, shopping with her blonde brood at Westside Pavillion Mall in LA, sported a pair of metallic DSquared2 platform pumps with spiked heel.
When we called our contact at DSquared2 to get the name of the questionable platform pump, they said while it looked like theirs, it wasn’t. Hmmm. While we keep looking for the pump-in-question, stop by Zappos to check their collection of DSQUARED2.

“Women have long had a love affair with high heels. Heels are sexy statements of stature and fashion,” says MSNBC’s correspondent Amy Robach, in her ode to gravity-defying heels. Renowned Podiatric Surgeon Suzanne Levine also pipes in on the outrageous “5, 6 — all the way up to 8 inches” we ladies are donning this season.
