Just how many shoes are in YOUR closet? Well, if you are shoe designer Beverly Feldman there’s enough to fill a museum! Teetering in at more than 1,500 pair, Miss Bev began her collection when she started her career in the footwear biz more than 30 years ago.
The museum, located in the south of Spain, focuses on highly embellished footwear, boasting both vintage and new examples, including Native American, Indian, African, French, late 19th century Chinese beaded and embroidered shoes, and a pair of exceptionally rare Western style Chinese shoes made for bound feet, which measure a mere 4”.
The museum also includes a Beverly Feldman wing with highlights from her 40 year career in the footwear industry. Additional samples from Beverly’s museum may be found in the Dutch Leather and Shoe Museum located in Waalwijk, Netherlands, and Shoe Icons; Virtual Shoe Museum in Moscow, Russia. For more information on what Miss Beverly is into, check out her “designer page” in our shopping guide.
Dior! ! Dior! Dior! WOW

Suede shoe bootie and pumps with square toes, open toes and funky platforms are what Dior is all about for Fall. These shoes are the combination of modernism with that touch of Retro. Who Is following who? Are the Automobile industries GTO remakes that we are seeing everyone driving watching the footwear business . In the Fashion footwear industry the look is happening. Remember those muscle cars and those wooden Made in Brazil platforms of the 70’s. No matter how hard we try to reinvent the wheel it is still circular. The other odd thing is gas shortages and a possible recession. Interest rate hikes are just around the corner. If I were you I would buy as many pairs as possible before the prices go up.

She’s going to Vegas, Baby!
December 8, 2008
shuzsociety’s “obsessed” member Marcy Alexander was the lucky Lady randomly selected for an all-expense paid trip to Las Vegas to attend The Collections at WSA — the world’s largest footwear and accessories trade show — the end of July. As shuzsociety’s VIP guest, she will receive…
• An exclusive presentation of the Spring 2009 collection from key premier designers at The Collections at WSA
• Dinner at a top Las Vegas restaurant with Italian footwear designer Angelo Anastasio and the shuzsociety team
• An appearance in Angelo Anastasio’s interview video with shuzsociety
• An invitation to the coveted The Collections at WSA Glass Slipper Award presentation
• An autographed pair of shoes from Angelo Anastasio’s latest collection
And just how excited is Miss Marcy? She responds in her acceptance email, “I’m so pumped! I swear I don’t think I have ever won anything in my whole life!!! When I received the call from Frances, I knew it wasn’t about the ‘fab Friday’ shoes since it was Tuesday. This is awesome, I can’t wait!!!! Thanks shuzsociety!!!!”

Why do you love shoes?
I love shoes because they can either begin or finish an outfit. They are the ultimate accessory.
If you could design the perfect pair of shoes, what features would they have?
They would be comfortable and make your feet look small, even if they aren’t!
Who is your favorite shoe designer?
Don’t know if I have a favorite, but I have purchased several pairs of Via Spiga and they seem to fit my foot well and so I continue to look for them.
What shoe trend would you like to see disappear?
Metallics, because by the time we know they are IN they are on the way OUT! OK, now an update here…found a great pair of Carlos Santana’s that are a color called Old Silver that look bronze, silver and gold at the same time!!!! Anyway, now I like all things shiny!!
What is your most favorite shoe style of all time?
I like pointed toes better than rounded, and heels over flats.
And with that, we know this sole sister will have an exceptional time.

E!Online listed the contestants for this season’s Dancing With the Stars by saying, “Bass leads the roster of 13 for the latest installment of ABC’s hot-stepping hit, a group of contestants cobbled together from the worlds of music, acting, reality TV and, in a bit of perfect timing, Olympic-caliber sport.” By Bass, they are referring to Lance, former ’N Syncer. Other celebrities include: Grammy winner Tony Braxton; Kim Kardashian of Keeping up with the Kardashians; Team USA’s two-time Olympic gold medalist beach volleyball team, Misty May-Treanor; Susan Lucci of All My Children; and Rock Star host and Brooke Burke, to name a few.
Cobbled together. Yes, some of the most dynamic shoes are born from being on the dance floor. shuzsociety has pulled together a few dancing shoe styles we think would work perfectly on the legs of any of the Dancing With the Stars’ Ladies. Take the shoes from dancer-turned-designer Anyi Lu whose sensible heels could glide any one of the contestants safely in style.
Vegas Baby

I’ve just returned from my very first trip to Las Vegas. And oooohhhhh what a trip it was! What started off as an innocent little sight seeing trip……..well, ok I DID plan to gamble & drink a tad…….turned into a full blown, neon lit trip of torture! But oh it hurt so good!! OK….I’ll elaborate since I sound like the potty minded girl my mother NEVER wanted me to become. Anyway…….there I was……walking down the Vegas strip……taking in all of the sights & sounds……the glare of the kajillion watts of lights…..the friendly chirping of the slot machines……the occasional 80’s cover band…….the good-natured slurring of the alcohol soaked tourists when I, quite by accident I might add, stumbled across the Shops at the Forum.
A three story wonderland filled with all of my favorite famous people……Roberto Cavalli, Versace, Gucci, Valentino………my grin was just about as big as I thought possible when I saw it……Jimmy Choo. I felt faint. I fell silent as I pressed my nose against the glass (it was closed.can you believe it?!) & ogled the just- out- of-reach motherlode.
I don’t know how long I stood there…….it must’ve been a while because my husband started to gently tug my arm & whisper only a little embarrassed sounding “Babe…..people are staring!”Only then did I become aware of the face sized smudge on the glass in front of me & the fine patrons at Spago gawking at me like I’d grown 2 heads. I grinned sheepishly at one woman who, bless her heart, smiled back & winked at me as if to say “Don’t sweat it…..I understand”
As I walked away from the shoe lovers Mecca…..I felt as though I’d seen all of Vegas I needed to. Everything else paled in comparison. Who needs Elvis when you have Jimmy Choo?

Designer Valentino Garavani, Vivica A. Fox, and Alan Cumming and others attended The Red Thread: The Inspiration & Passion of Valentino Garavani event in New York City.
We since searched for a nude-colored satin “Jasmin” sandal but instead found these two for you: “Jasmin” patent leather halter-back with 4 1/2″ heel. $495, at Net-a-Porter.

Tulsa, Oklahoma. Credited as the birthplace of Route 66, the home of Western Swing music, and once dubbed the Oil Capital of the World, Tulsa has accomplished quite a lot since becoming a state a little more than 100 years ago. And this past weekend T-town paired philanthropy, footwear and friends for the 2nd annual “Wine, Women and Shoes” event.
